The IX Forum is a gathering of participants from IX.br and Brazilian Autonomous Systems. The event fosters dialogue on relevant issues related to the development of the Internet in Brazil and worldwide, focusing on its technical infrastructure and the role of Internet Exchanges (Traffic Exchange Points).
Fortaleza is a strategic location for the Internet in Brazil and Latin America, with a high concentration of submarine cables connecting to other continents. It is also home to the second-largest PTT in Brazil, IX.br Fortaleza, which is one of the largest Internet Exchanges in the world. For this reason, NIC.br organizes an annual edition of the traditional IX Forum in Fortaleza. The forum has been held in São Paulo since 2007 and is considered by many to be the best technical event on Internet infrastructure in Latin America.
